What stood out to you about Aon?

The key reasons were Aon’s excellent reputation in the industry, attendance at university careers fairs and the opportunities to build knowledge across not only different areas of insurance, but also solution lines.

What are your main duties?

My role involves marketing risks to underwriters, handling accounts, analysing team data and networking with underwriters and clients.

Why did you choose this sector?

I wanted a career which allowed me to meet many different people in the industry in various roles and to build professional relationships.

What skills are useful in your role?

Good communication is very important, Excel proficiency, problem solving, attention to detail and interpersonal skills.

Outside of your day-to-day role, are you involved in any extracurricular activities at Aon?

I play in a 5-a-side league with other Aon graduates.

Do you have any advice for anyone wanting to enter the profession?

  • Be in the office as much as possible to take advantage of every opportunity that comes along.
  • Introduce yourself and speak to as many people in your team as you can and let them know you are happy to help them with work.
  • Attend networking events.
