I joined Aon because of its global reputation and the fact that it is a leader in the market. I’ve found that Aon combines a variety of highly experienced specialists from many different business solution lines from whom I can gain knowledge and expertise.

Describe your role at Aon

Recently, I rotated from a catastrophe modelling role within the Cyber Reinsurance team to an operations role, both are extremely exciting and completely different. I’ve found operations more versatile – from finance and IT to HR and accounts payable activities. This gives me a wider opportunity to learn about business governance, procedures and processes within the insurance industry.

Why did you choose this sector?

I chose to work in this sector because of its diversity. You can work within different business solution lines, learn and experience a variety of professions. It’s a constantly developing and changing environment which means it never gets boring!

What skills are useful in your role?

Adaptability, teamwork, great communication, time management, MS Excel.

Do you have any advice for anyone wanting to enter the profession?

• Ask tones of questions.
• Be kind to yourself if you don’t know something, there is always a friendly person willing to help you.
